Camiel Van Breedam.
The materials/elements/parts with which he makes assemblages, reliefs, collages, objects, constructions, structures, sculptures and environments are very diverse.
Through time and erosion they have acquired a patina, because they "have already endured a life". These materials are basic materials such as wood, metals, paper. They come from "everywhere" and have already been used or partly used up.
The subjects are very diverse as well: the sea, nature, the Indian, literature, jazz, red, plumbing, ethnic art, Paris, the twenties & thirties, social involvement, anti-religion, the brickyards, preferred artists.
These are all stimuli that set his imagination at work.
